Happy New Year to all! We hope that you had a wonderful break- we are looking forward to a great year! The market is healthy and we are trending upwards, as are our retailers. In this market update, we summarise the final six months of a great year, 2017 with some great statistics.
NEWS & UPDATES
Harry’s Famous Schnitzel has now entered the Sydney Market. Stores are open at Narellan and St Mary’s. There are several more for Sydney planned for 2018 and it looks like Melbourne is a go for Q1 2018.
Breadtop dominate their segment and we have found express formats have a huge upside for at least 8-10 more stores yearly. Sydney CBD and Melbourne Outer suburbs are the targets.
FFG are dominating the casual café/restaurant space with Billy’s openings in Craigieburn, Southland, Elatham, 360 Collins, Docklands and another 15 in line for 2018.
FFG’s ENA Greek Street Food as an Express model at Collins Square is a roaring success, so there are several more ENA stores coming in Q1 and Q2 2018. Barkly Square in Brunswick opening soon.
Espresso Bar opened at Collins Square and Chadstone and are cornering the discerning premium coffee market, several more are rolling out in Q1 and Q2 2018 in high volume premium areas. Southgate Melbourne opening soon.
Market Place is one of the best Fruit and Veg offers in Melbourne that includes Deli and Continental Groceries. Werribee looks magic and is a power force. We are targeting a variation of formats in 2018 within neighbourhood centres.
Walkers Donuts opened in Werribee and the upside for this retailer is huge for 2018, 5 more shall be rolled out quite easily in the first half of the year.
Matchbox the leader in quality kitchen homeware is back with a vengeance with new stores in Bunbury, Mt Omaney and 5 pipelined for 2018 already.
Soul Origin sweeping all before them and up to 90 stores Nationally! Bayside, Spencer, Galleria all opened in Melbourne before years end, another 12 to open in Melbourne as the New Year rolls on.
Zeus Greek Street Food opened in Moonee Ponds just before Christmas with immediate success. This traditional offer with a contemporary spin has scope for another 10 stores this year with 3 – 5 in Melbourne, 3 more already pipelined.
Green Palm/Zen, Chinese massage opened in Melton and The Glen and we have another 3 ready for Q2 2018. This best in Category offer has scope for another 8 in 2018.
Hudsons Coffee. Very excited to open in Fountain Gate and Shell Harbour with scope to roll out another 10 in 2018.
Cowch – Watch this space! With 2 stores in Queensland, Southbank and Pacific Fair, we don’t see anyone as relevant in the Desert and Cocktail space. Melbourne and Sydney will open in 2018. The District Docklands Melbourne is confirmed!
